Connect your Kapso project and agents to WhatsApp
This section guides you through connecting your Kapso project and agents to the WhatsApp Business API. This connection allows your agents to send and receive messages via WhatsApp.
Overview
Connecting to WhatsApp involves three main steps:
Obtain Credentials from Meta
Gathering necessary IDs and generating a permanent Access Token from your Meta Business Account and WhatsApp Manager
Configure Credentials in Kapso
Entering the obtained credentials into your Kapso project
Set Up the Webhook
Configuring Meta to send incoming message events to a specific URL provided by Kapso
Credentials Required
You will need these three pieces of information for Kapso configuration:
- Phone Number ID (from Meta App’s WhatsApp API Setup)
- WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) ID (from Meta App’s WhatsApp API Setup or Business Settings)
- Permanent System User Access Token (generated via Business Settings for a System User with correct permissions and ‘Never’ expiry)
Configuration Levels
WhatsApp configurations in Kapso work at two levels:
- Project Level: Where you store and manage connection credentials for one or more WhatsApp numbers
