Add the Kapso Slack app, then mention @Kapso in a connected channel or message it directly. Each Slack thread is one agent session, so follow-up messages in the same thread continue the conversation. If Integrations → Slack is not available in your project, contact support.

Install

You need to be a project owner or admin.
  1. Go to Integrations → Slack in your project and add the Kapso app to your workspace.
  2. Invite @Kapso into the channel you want to use.
  3. Mention @Kapso in that channel. The app replies with a connect button - pick the project if you manage more than one.
A channel connects to exactly one project. To move it to another project, disconnect it first. Adding the app from Kapso links your Slack identity to your Kapso account. Only linked users can connect channels and approve tool calls, so each owner or admin who needs to do that should add the app from their own Kapso account.

Settings

Under Integrations → Slack you can set the defaults for new Slack conversations:
  • Default mode - the mode Slack sessions start in. Defaults to api.
  • Tool approvals - Strict follows the approval settings of the mode. Autonomous runs every tool action without approval, including sending messages, MCP tools, and sandbox changes.
  • Default model and reasoning effort - used by built-in modes. Custom modes use the model configured on the mode.

Use it

Mention @Kapso with your request:
  • The agent replies in the thread. Mention it again in the same thread to continue that session.
  • If a run is already active in the thread, new mentions wait in the queue like in the dashboard.
  • For multi-step work, the agent posts a live plan card and tool progress in the thread.
  • The final reply includes who asked, the project, and a View in Kapso link to the full session.
  • The app’s Messages tab shows suggested prompts based on what needs attention in your project.
Anyone in the channel can ask. The requester is shown on the response, but tools execute with the authority of the owner or admin who connected the channel. If that person loses project access, the channel stops working until someone reconnects it.

Direct messages

Message @Kapso directly to work without a channel. Each new message starts a session; replies in its thread continue it. DMs pick the project automatically: the workspace’s connected project when there is only one, or the project you manage (or your default project) when there are several. If Kapso can’t pick one, it asks you to link your Slack identity or have an owner or admin connect the workspace to a single project.

Approvals

When the agent needs approval - sending a message, for example - it posts an approval card in the thread. A card can cover several tool calls; approve or reject them together. Only Slack users linked to a Kapso account with access to the project can approve or reject.

Disconnect

Remove a channel or the whole project connection from Integrations → Slack. Disconnecting the last project removes the app installation from the workspace. Uninstalling the app from Slack disconnects everything too.
