Even when using Kapso credits, you maintain full control over model behavior:- Temperature: Control response creativity (0.0 - 1.0)
- Max tokens: Set maximum response length
- Reasoning effort: For reasoning models, control how much effort goes into complex tasks
Parameter changes are applied per agent, allowing you to optimize each agent for its specific use case.
When to use your own keys
While Kapso credits work great for most use cases, you might want to use your own API keys if you:- Have negotiated volume discounts with AI providers
- Need to use specific models not available through Kapso
- Require direct billing for accounting purposes
- Want to use multiple providers across different agents
